Cant verify

I can't verify my cell phone number that I want to use?  I get this message below. 

This phone number is already in use. You can remove it from the associated account or add a different one.

What if I haven´t used it before?

Airbnb does show another profile with your same phone number and that is why you are getting the message. Is it possible another person is using your phone number on their profile or you have an old profile you have forgotten about?

If not, then you will have to contact Airbnb to resolve the issue.

I discovered that when my wife was booking trips for me through airbnb she had to create an account

Hi @Keyon12 do you remember using or linking your phone number to an Airbnb profile? That is why you're unable to verify your phone number. When you contact Airbnb support, clearly explain that you are receiving a message stating that your phone number is already in use and that you cannot verify it for your account. 

Depending on their investigation, the Airbnb support team may provide specific instructions or steps to follow for you to use your phone number to this Airbnb account successfully. Hope this helps!
