I have a sea side property which is getting no bookings because it is in the wrong category. I requested that it be changed from national park to coastal but now it is now showing as golfing and my requests have been rejected. The property is no where near a national park or golf course it is in a coastal town with a view of the sea from the property. Please help to get it changed!
Guests can no longer search using categories since Airbnb removed them in April 2025. You can still request to be added to a category or have an incorrect category removed using the Elevate link. Just a guess, but Airbnb may use the data in categories on the Listing Editor/Property Type at some time in the future, so it would be good to ensure you are in the correct categories:
Login to your Airbnb Account
Type: https://elevate.translated.com/categories in your browser
Request to add or delete a category
You'll see what categories you are in under Listing Editor/Property Type.
Im not sure if it's any consolation, but my property is also listed under this category although nowhere near a golf course. I am getting bookings but maybe because it's close to central London? I believe in my case, people are just putting the search criteria as Central London and my property comes up. A lot of people are complaining about categories.
Hope you get it resolved and would be keen to hear if any solution?
Cyn
Hi @Charlotte1580 , I agree with @Joan2709 and @C197 - categories will no longer hold one down in Airbnb search results.
I checked your calendar and you're actually doing very well if one considers that there are few nights available, and the ones that are have a 7-night minimum stay. That means you're only coming up in some very specific searches.
