Changes on hosts' webpage

Changes on hosts' webpage

Hello everyone!

Does anyone understand the purpose of airbnb w the changes recently implemented in the hosts' page?

For instance, in the "Calendar" tab, on the right side, a lot of useful information has been removed (!)

- We used to have on the top a sum up of each booking (customer, dates, ttal days, ttal amount....)  =>  removed

- We could see a detailed discrimination of the #values received by hosts  &  #values paid by customer  =>  removed (only the first provided if clicked at end page)

Instead of improving, it seems they try to make life harder for those who bring them money!

Cheers, Fausto

One has to ask,how many of these changes come about from people who don't use AIRBNB as a Host but a Data Architect or Scientist.

Honestly some of the things going on it the world really lack Application of Logic!

This is exactly what I was thinking. As someone who worked in software dev for 10+ years, before becoming a full time host, these unnecessary changes to the app/website make no sense. They are making Ui changes, that literally make it harder for users to access the information we need as hosts. I used to be able to check the payout breakdown of a reservation with just 1 click, now its 3 clicks (plus scrolling). Use to be able to see the number of reviews a guest had with just 1-2 clicks, now i have to dig and do 3-4 clicks to see that. I used to be able to sort the messages inbox, by check-in date to see which guests need the most attention, and they just removed that feature completely. Adding clicks/steps to an internal user's workflow, is bad UI/UX development. These changes should be making it easier to access the important information we need.

It is evident the people designing and building this app do not actually use it, or even bother to test these design ideas with a user base of hosts. Maybe there is some business reasons for these changes that make airbnb more $$, that im not seeing, but these changes were clearly not implemented to give and value to the actual users.

@Airbnb I dont even really care about the hiding of the phone #s and guest name etc, but why are you making the app more difficult to use with every update ???
