Cleaning fee not applied

I created a new listing and my cleaning fee was not applied for the first 3 reservations.  I need to figure out how to rectify this for future and past reservations.

Hello @Lindsay542

The cleaning fee and other extra fees has recently changed place and is now found under the calendar that gives you a monthly view of your pricing.

On the right hand side you have various adjustments that you can make - base rate, discounts.  Scroll all the way down until you find:

==>Additional charges

==>Fees - cleaning fee, pet fees etc

Enter your cleaning fee.  Note that Airbnb are now offering hosts to enter a cleaning fee for 1 or 2 night stays if you want and if not just ignore this section and put your one price fits all cleaning fee

All the best

Joëlle

I am currently disputing this issue with AirB&B after realizing that not a single one of my bookings for the past two months was charged a cleaning fee, even though the guests believed and booked thinking there was a cleaning fee and I made cleaning related purchased and labored believing the cleaning fee was being applied. AirB&B is telling me that the short term cleaning fee is "mandatory" and that if you don't set one, then cleaning is automatically free for short stay bookings, but the language on the AirB&B platform clearly states that it is optional. I am certain that AirB&B is at fault here and I strongly believe that AirB&B needs to compensate hosts for the lost fees.

Forget past reservations since trying to recoup that would be a royal mess.

this has happened to more hosts!! We’ve all been arguing with Airbnb. We believe they made the mistake and it’s a technical issue.

It seems airbnb has made it confusing. You need to separately charge for 1-2 night cleaning fee. They are in two spots.
