Customer Experience with Evolve

We have typically reserved properties through VRBO. We have typically had very good experiences. Last year however, I attempted to book a property through VRBO that was managed by Evolve. The system had technical issues and at no point did a reservation show in my VRBO account. Fast forward, I was charged 10k for my attempted property reservation that I was not even aware existed. At that point, I had already booked another property. I tried to resolve this with both VRBO and Evolve. After being unable to reach Evolve via phone after many attempts, when I finally did they cancelled the reservation I never knew I had, did not refund the charges and rented out the property for those same dates. My customer experience with Evolve was absolutely awful. I am still trying to recoup these charges. Since that time, I no longer use VRBO and exclusively use AirBnb. I will never reserve a property through any third party associated with Evolve.

So sorry this happened. Unfortunately, Evolve (and many other large property management companies) have a terrible track record. Simple type "Evolve" in the search the community box and you'll see what I mean. Evolve also manages listings on all the other platforms including Airbnb. When deciding where to book in the future, always look for the Host name on the Listing. If it's not an individual, but a business name like Evolve or others, I would just not book and move on.

 

Lots of individual Hosts out there that do a great job on all the short term rental platforms, just use care not to book a listing managed by a large property management company.
