I am setting myself up as a host and have a question about this option. If I select that option, just to be safe until I am 100% sure I set everything up right, is there an easy way to reset it to 3 months, or 6 months? Or would i have to 'unblock' dates manually forever....?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.... 🙂
@Herb10 I don't remember this option but don't worry - Its really easy to block and unblock dates at a later point in time. You just highlight the dates in your calendar and click 'available' - takes almost no time at all..
Good luck with your new listing - we are just up the road in Radbourne.
My default has always been three months in advance, @Herb10, as it gives me a little more short-term control. The 'unavailable by default' option is probably only useful for those who want to list a few dates here and there.
I am confused about this as well. When I went into my listing to update after the new policy and features were released, I noticed that the "UNavailable by default" option was automatically applied. Does this mean that all dates are blocked until I go into the calendar and unblock them one by one manually? Or does it mean the opposite... I have to block the dates I want and the rest are open until I say so?
As usual the one thing AirBnB has not done is improvement of the language, user friendliness and communication with their hosts.
No @Patricia2834 you can just choose any of the other options - 3 months, 6 months, etc. - and your dates will open up.
Thanks
