Declining a reservation request

Declining a reservation request

Hello All,

I have a reservation request from someone with bad reviews.

I'm going to decline the request but should I also send a message to the person?

Thanks

John

The decline form asks also for a message to the guest.

Didn’t know that thank you

Hi @John9587

If it’s still a reservation request (not a confirmed booking), you can decline it rather than accepting and potentially having to cancel later.

Must respond within 24 hours. Declining counts as a response and helps maintain your response rate.

Thank you Patricia.

The booker has messaged me again wanting 2 nights instead of 1. (we have a 2-night minimum).

I really don't want this person and her friends due to all the negative reveiws.

What do I say/do?

Hello @John9587

You can also choose to block a guest if you are feeling uncomfortable with this persistant guest.  Details below:

John, are you sure this isn't an information request rather than a trip request because if you have a 2 day minimum, guests can't send us trip requests that don't respect our minimum stay requirement?

Just in case, I'm including a guide on the difference between the two and how to handle them (slightly different)
