Frankly, Airbnb and Booking.com are a global duopoly. It results in the commissions be higher than in a competitive market and rules favoring the portal owner over the property owner or manager. In Europe we have to pay commissions, tourist taxes, and VAT.
I am looking for suggestions on other ways to secure short term rental customers. I will add that Airbnb appears to be the discount end of the market. Booking.com appears to offer higher revenues per day.
