Discounts

How can we show to prospective guest that a discount has been applied.  Eg early bird.  So the guest can see the saving.

Hi @Maureen660

Discounts related to trip length (weekly and monthly discount) and check-in date ( early bird or last minute) are only shown when a guest's search or reservation request details qualify according to your settings. It means a guest looking for 6 nights will not be shown that you have a weekly discount.

If you wish to show every guest that you have a discounted rate for a certain period, regardless of trip length and check-in date, setting up a Promotion will help you with it as it has these benefits:

√ New line item on your price breakdown

√ Strikethrough styling on search pages and your listing

√ Special callout on your listing page

√ Placement in emails to guests

Note however that promotions and your trip length and check-in related discounts will both apply to the listing's rate if you both set them and the reservation details meet the requirement. For example, if you have a promotion for the full month of January, and a guest requests a 7-night reservation, the promotional rate will also be discounted by the weekly discount percentage.

All the best.

Hi @Maureen660 to showcase a discount to prospective guests on Airbnb, you may follow these steps.

- When you are on your listing dashboard, you can set up different types of discounts. For an early bird discount, select the option for "early bird" or "advanced purchase" discounts. This will usually apply to guests booking far in advance.

- Input your preferred discount. Specify the percentage of the discount and how many days in advance the booking must be made to qualify for the discount. Then Save.

- Once you have saved your settings, view your listing as it appears to guests. The discount should be visible in the pricing section, showing the original price crossed out and the new discounted price highlighted.

When a guest clicks on your listing, they can view more details about the pricing. Here, the breakdown will show the original price, the percentage of the discount, and the final price after the discount. When the guest proceeds to book, the summary before payment will clearly itemize the discount applied. Hope this helps!
