Duplex listing with host in bottom unit

Hi everyone! I’m a superhost and have had multiple units listed on Airbnb over the past 2 ish years!
I am moving into the bottom unit of a duplex I own, where the top unit is one of my airbnbs.
Am I obligated to specify on the top units listing that I live in the other unit of the building per Airbnb rules?

They share a porch but have completely separate entrances and are completely separate units.

I don’t want to mislead any guests or “hide” that the host is downstairs. I’m just also not wanting to interact with every guest we have or be on immediate call 24/7 due to being right downstairs. Not that I don’t want to be handy when needed- just don’t want guests knocking on my door.

I cant find a solid answer and unfortunately had too much of a language barrier explaining this to Airbnb support.

thank you in advance!!

I  live  in  my property  shared housing  so  guests know.   What  has worked  for me is   just   setting  the   tone  of  expectations  regardless  to   where  I  sleep.  Nothing is  a perfect   answer but  II  don't  offer  hotel  expectations  and   most   guests only  wake   me  or  something  if  important @Trinity33

You don't have to but I would strongly recommend you do @Trinity33

1. You are less likely to have problem guests book if they know the host lives down stairs

2. you can indicate on your listing the level of interaction you like

4. In your visitor pack/when you meet guests you can indicate how they should contact you

5. being able to meet guests on arrival to help them check in means they can't claim listing isn't as advertised

Hi @Trinity33

I agree with @Helen3. It's best to disclose you live in bottom unit. You do indicate under Guest Access and Other Details to Note some information about shared spaces. The big one is no access to the back yard for the upstairs unit.

I noticed you didn't disclose any shared spaces under Guest Safety Section/Property Info? You might also add something brief under potential for noise since you are in the bottom unit. I would also add that pets live on property in this section (you mention no access to back yard due to your dog). Not sure if the dog barks or not, and sounds like guests are not permitted in the back yard, but probably best to disclose pets live on property:

Other Details to Note

"The backyard belongs to the downstairs unit, and the friendly Great Pyrenees that lives there. Please do not open fence or enter back yard at any time."
