Hello, I added an early bird discount to my listing and I have a booking for next year already. However, this booking is requiring the guest to pay now. All my other listings they pay when they check in. Is this the policy for earlybird discounts? appreciate any insight. thank you.
Guest must pay Airbnb when they book the reservation (NOT when they check-in).
Airbnb can offer guests a payment plan. If a payment plan is available. guest can only choose it at time of booking.
Probably the guest was not offered a payment plan (or did not choose it).
As a host you can not control payment, it is a matter between the guest and Airbnb.
When guests make a reservation on Airbnb, they are generally required to pay at the time of booking, even if their check-in date is weeks or months away. This payment secures the dates they want and removes those dates from the calendar so other guests can no longer book them.
For hosts, it’s different, we don’t receive the payout immediately. Airbnb typically releases the payout on the day after the guest checks in (provided there are no payment holds or verification issues). This system helps protect both guests and hosts by ensuring the reservation is confirmed while the funds are held securely until the stay begins.
Why would I do this when I don't get the payout, some with pay in advance no cancellation? The only benefit is to AirBnB. Why would I do this and take less money when I don't get any incentive. Early bird even allows them to cancel the same. Sorry, I give enough to AirBnb, not taking a discount to give them more.
