I just set up a new listing. I cannot get to the edit screen. I have an older listing where the edit screen comes right up. Does it take time for a newly created listing to be recognized by the system?

Thank you @Susan6449
It will probably be best to hit "Publish" in order to proceed. I know you say you're not ready to publish yet, but it will help you to proceed past this point.
Then, as soon as it's published, go to the Calendar tab and select the Availability Settings. Scroll down to "Availability window" and choose "Unavailable by default".
The above will block all your dates from getting booked, unless you manually open them up. This gives you time to finish your work on the listing before guests can book.
(Another way to do this - that would make the listing completely invisible to others - would be to set the listing to "Unlisted" after publishing it. But this is not recommended, as it may cause you to lose your new listing discount settings. So rather use the Availability Window setting above.)
If you want to make double sure that guests can't book the listing without your approval in the beginning, you can also turn off Instant Book for now. This can be found in the Listings tab under Booking Settings.
It may be good to "practice" changing the availability window (and turning off Instant Book) on the first listing - you will then be able to go straight to it after you publish the second listing.
Afterwards, be sure to also check through @Joan2709 's guide for new hosts for some valuable tips for both listings:

What do you mean by "edit screen" @Susan6449 ?
Are you having trouble seeing the listing in the Listings tab?
I can see the listing but when I click on it, I get a screen that says Edit Listing, and that takes me to a screen that says
"Yah! It's time to publish." and then some What's next? items but there is no way to do any editing. The only choice is to Publish and I am not ready to do that.
For my other unit, when I click on the listing, I go to the Listing editor and can make any changes I want to make.
Both say "In Progress"
Do you have to put in your city STR licensing number before it can go live @Susan6449
Thanks for the suggestion. I have no idea what an STR licensing number is, but I am in an island in the West Indies, and the unit is there. And that doesn't explain why I can do it for one unit and not the other.
Hi @Susan6449,
I just wanted to check in and see if you were still having some issues editing this listing today, or had found a solution in the end?
For context, and STR licensing number refers to a Short term rental licence, which is required in places in order to create a listing. Which island is it that you are on? One we know that perhaps we'll be able to keep guiding you. 🙂
Thank you @Shelley159 and @Helen3 as well for trying to troubleshoot so far!

I am in Antigua, West Indies. But I have no problem accessing the Edit screens for a second unit, just this one. Maybe I should just take it down and start again?
Hi @Susan6449 I think it may help if we tag @Joan2709 , who may have some knowledge of recent new listings. Joan can you help at all with this new listing setup question?
Snap @Shelley159, great minds think alike - I was going to call upon Joan's wisdom as well to help Susan! 🤗

Thank you, all help appreciated! This seems to be a glitch of some kind.
@Susan6449 is it possible to post a screenshot of the Edit page of the listing that's working properly, and also of what you get when you try to edit the one that's giving trouble?
You can just hit "paste" in the text box to paste a screenshot, or you can use the Camera icon in the toolbar above to insert a photo file.
This is the one that I can edit.
This is the first screen on the one I can't edit.
This is what I get when I click on Edit listing on the screen above.
Thank you @Susan6449

I did, thank you, I followed Shelley's advice and Published and then made the unit unavailable.
