Hi all, quick question. How do you handle pre-arrival / confirmation emails with guests? What key information do you include (check-in, house rules, transport, local tips, etc) and how do you avoid overwhelming guests with too much information? Curious to hear what’s worked well for others.
Hi Stefania,
Personally, I try to keep it simple: a short welcome/confirmation message after booking, then a short pre-arrival message with the essential check-in information.
For everything else, I find a digital arrival guide works best, with all the useful details in one place such as house rules, services, and local tips.
That way guests get the key information without too many messages.
@Adil342 Lovely, I will try the digital arrival guide, maybe I even print a little booklet with all the infosand qr codes so I don't bombard my guests with info. 😊
That's a lovely idea about the digital arrival guide @Adil342, how do you send that to your guests?
I really like your idea for the little booklet @Stefania1265 - I've seen some hosts have shared on the Community Center in the past that they have a 'house manual' 😍 @Greystone0, @Mary1523 and @Juan63 shared some comments in this thread: House manual and I wonder if @Angela4003 ever got something set up! 🤔
Quick tip: if you type "@" and then the username, this will tag the member that you're replying to.
Thank you, that manual in the thread you shared looks great! I'll share my one as soon as I get it done!
Great discussion! As a frequent guest travelling through Europe I completely agree with @Adil342 — a digital arrival guide is the best approach. Guests don't read long messages, but they will scan a QR code when they arrive and need the WiFi password.
That experience as a guest actually inspired me to build exactly this — a simple digital card with all the information hosts need to share. Happy to show it if anyone is curious!
