How do you propose feature requests to Airbnb?
I am getting a great many third party bookings lately (i.e. where the person booking isn't staying and I have no idea who I'd be handing the keys to my home over to). Previous bad experience before I realised Airbnb regard this as a "violation" makes me quite strict on this, and disentangling such situations can get messy and time-wasting as well as causing distress to the clients.
I propose a mandatory tick box for the booker to confirm they are staying before the book / request button is activated. How do I request that?
Third party bookings are forbidden, and if they suspect you knew about it and did not inform them you are not going to be covered for damages.
The minute I get a booking I send a saved message that asks time of arrival and the names of everyone staying at the apartment ( and if they don't have a verified ID, I tell them to do it before arrival, it is on my house rules). If they don't comply I don't give the keys.
I'm aware of that, and I'm getting a bit sick of wasting time on these (I've just finished fending off the third in 24 hours).
But that wasn't my question. I want to ask Airbnb for a feature that makes third party bookings less likely to happen.
Good tip on asking for the names of all the guests though. Are you saying you simply keep their money if they don't meet your criteria? Doesn't that make for some rather caustic feedback?
Sorry @Andy511 but since the creation of Airbnb, hosts all over the world have been requesting simple logical features that never, ever materialize. ie. option to add a pet fee, option to take a real security deposit, ability to search inbox for messages, etc. Search these forums for thousands of other requests and suggestions. We don't even get a response as to why they aren't feasible or possible.
