I’m honestly frustrated and hurt right now and I feel like I just have to share this because maybe other hosts will get it. Before this guest even arrived she flat out told me the reason she was booking was because she wanted to have a party. I told her right away no, that’s not allowed. She still went ahead and did it anyway. Because I have other listings on the property it was obvious really quickly that she was hosting a party. Airbnb tried calling her, messaging her, I did the same, and she ignored all of it. Airbnb had no choice but to cancel her reservation.
After her reservation was canceled she refused to leave. I left her countless and countless and countless messages begging her to please leave the property so I wouldn’t have to call the police. That was the very last thing I wanted to do because again I have other guests on the property. She refused anyway, and in the end I had no choice but to call the police to remove her.
Then about a week later Airbnb’s safety team called me saying this guest had reported there were cameras “listening to her.” I went through that whole investigation, gave Airbnb everything, and the case was closed because it was completely false. Which honestly makes me wonder how someone like this is even still on the platform.
And then after all of that she leaves me a review full of lies. She said my listing was “private.” It’s not, it’s clearly listed as a guest suite and it says right there that there are other units. She said she was “being watched all the time.” That was already investigated and proven false. She said five men came to her door. The only people who came were the police because she refused to leave after her stay was canceled. She said she never got an explanation. My messages prove I explained everything to her, she just ignored me. This isn’t just retaliatory, it’s completely false. And Airbnb is letting it stay. Here is her review "This was by far the most uncomfortable Airbnb stay we've ever had. The listing falsely presented the property as private, but we were clearly being watched the entire time, which felt invasive and unsettling. The host was unwelcoming from the start and made it clear they did not want us there — yet had no issue keeping our payment. The worst part: at 3 AM, the host showed up at the door with five other men, banging loudly and demanding that we leave immediately. This aggressive and shocking behavior woke up our entire family, including children, and made us feel unsafe. We were given no explanation or resolution, and the host was entirely unhelpful and confrontational throughout. I would strongly advise others to avoid this property for their own safety and peace of mind."
Airbnb’s own retaliatory review policy says a review can be removed if a host enforces house rules, if a guest throws an unauthorized party, or if a guest refuses to leave. She did all three. When I first asked for the review to be removed the agent I spoke to agreed it was retaliatory. She even told me she would leave a note to have it removed. The second time I asked my request was denied in less than five minutes. Five minutes. That’s not an investigation. That’s just automating a response. And now Airbnb has this system where you can only go through the app to request a removal. It feels like a machine is making the decision because it literally takes seconds to come back with an answer. No associate can step in, no one can look at the evidence. I don’t even understand how Airbnb has changed to this. It’s crazy.
I’ve hosted for the last four years. All four years I’ve been a Superhost. I love hosting. I pour my heart into it. I care about my guests and I care about my space. But this whole experience has left me feeling completely unsupported. Not just unfair… disheartening.
Yes...sadly Airbnb is throwing Hosts under the bus with their AI driven review disputes. This is one of the most egregious cases I have seen yet. Clear violation of Airbnb written policies and yet the review was not removed.
I suggest listing on other platforms and consider a direct booking site.
Completely agree. AI is really damaging hosts and it seems they are doung nothing about it.
The saddest part is that even the associates have mentioned that they would have removed the review but there is nothing that can be done due to this "new system"
The only options you have left is to continue to try and escalate the request to remove and/or file an arbitration claim with Airbnb under their TOS for failure to abide by their own written policies:
Arbitration

I had 3 bad reviews like this in a short time and this even led to removal of my listing after 5 years of hosting.
Really disappointing how host are being treated unfairly. There is really something wrong with the review system of Airbnb.
I’ve already listed on other platforms and plan to ditch Airbnb completely
