Generali insurance claim submission glitch AGAIN

I am desperate for help filing a claim through Generali. I see that someone has outlined the exact same issue in a thread called "Generali insurance claim submission glitch," with no clear solution ever having been presented.

To reiterate, the issue is that once you press "trip cancellation," it opens up a window that says to cancel your reservation in Airbnb (which I already did.) I proceed to press "file a claim," and nothing happens. It is impossible to proceed past this spot.

I have called Generali, and for the life of me I cannot get through to a person to explain the issue. I've called Airbnb support and they keep giving me the Generali phone number I already have. It is torturous.

@Jeremy964 - Did you ever find a resolution for this issue other than hiring a lawyer?

@Paula - your original advice was not helpful given the fact that I already have a Generali account. Is there anymore help you can offer me?

Thanks,

Sara

@Sara9045 I am having the same exact issue but I was told by Generali support (phone) that it was a known glitch with Generali/AirBnB trip interruption claims and that the fix is to try no earlier than 5 days after cancelling the ABnB reservation. However, now, several weeks after I cancelled, the issue persists.

I would suggest calling the Generali customer support # (ending in -0010) and selecting option #5 to increase your odds of getting a person on the phone. Then explain your dilemma AND that it's a known issue in the ABnB community AND that you have tried to submit the claim directly on the Generali website in an attempt to bypass the ABnB website, only to be redirected BACK to the ABnB website...

Then request that they mail you hardcopy paperwork to submit a claim. I was successful at this request process...although I'm waiting for Generali to send me the documents via USPS. They state it will take 10-14 days for them to arrive. We shall see.

Good luck!

Hi @Sara9045 , I'm sorry to hear about this issue. While the Community Center isn't a customer support forum, we can help by forwarding your case to the technical team.

Could you share a video displaying the error through a shareable google drive link? Before recording, it might be helpful to follow these steps and then try submitting the claim again. This has been helpful for other Hosts facing similar issues:

  • Log out.
  • Close all browser windows and tabs.
  • Open a new window or tab.
  • Clear your cache, cookies, and browsing history.
  • If you're using an app, delete and reinstall it.
  • Log back in using EMAILFROM_ACCOUNT

Keep us posted.
