Help Needed - Listing Verification Question - Orlando

Hello Airbnb Community,

I’m fairly new to hosting on Airbnb and recently started listing my Marriott timeshare. My first listing went smoothly, but now Airbnb is asking me to verify my Orlando Marriott timeshare property.

Since I don’t live near Orlando, I’d really appreciate any advice on the best and easiest way to complete the verification process. From what I understand, someone needs to be physically present at the resort to take a few photos or videos.

If anyone is local to the area and might be willing to lend a hand, I’d be incredibly grateful for your help—or even just some guidance on how others have handled this kind of situation.

Thanks so much in advance!

Hello @Joi123

I'm a little confused your listings do have photos .

Normally verification is you providing photo ID.

What photos are Airbnb asking you to take as part of a verification process that aren't on your listing.

you could ask on your local host group for recommendations for a photographer that you could commission to take some photos for you.

Hello @Helen3

I think that @Joi123 is talking of the listing verification process that Airbnb implemented last year in which hosts had to be on site to send pictures or videos of their listing via a link so that the listing could show as being verified on the listing.  The house icon turns to red = verified rather than just black.

Some of us were lucky enough not to have to go through this process as recent guest reviews were used instead but this was not the norm but I remember that it was a pain to do especially for those that are remote hosts.  Long journeys had to be made to get it done.

But yes, like Helen says, try asking via your local Airbnb facebook.  They have probably given you a deadline too?

Ah I didn't realise that. @Joelle43

I haven't been asked to do that for any of my listings .

if you don't have a local cohost then I can see that would mean as a remote host you would have to make a trip to the listing .

Thank you for sharing your questions here in the Community. I'm sure that with the help of other hosts we'll be able to help you. I'm going to tag some members from Orlando to see if they can help you with this verification process: @Debbie-and-Bill0@Ebony111@Edward848@Ernesto567@George1300@Hanny33 and @Jane-and-Frank1

Hope we can help you!

Best,

Alex

Hi! We completed this process for our new listing back in April. I don’t believe it’s mandatory, since it’s mainly to verify your listing’s location, but it’s definitely good to have.

To complete it, Airbnb requires GPS verification (location services enabled on your phone) and Real-time photos using the Airbnb app; you can't upload previously taken photos.

If you're not physically there, the challenge is that someone you trust will need to access your Airbnb account to complete the process on-site. They must be logged in as you since, as far as I know, even co-hosts don’t have access to verification tasks.

Thank you, for info the info regarding the Photo situation.
