Host Transfer

Host Transfer

Hello all.

Our Airbnb has been running successfully since June of this year.

It has been hosted by my son since he knew the app.

But my wife has done all the work.

Recently he decided to pull out.

He’s canceled all the bookings and I’ve lost all of the reviews.

Luckily, I saved screenshots of everything and I’ve set it up again.

Does anyone have any tips on how to handle when something like this happens?

Thank you

John.

Hello @John9587

As far as I know there is no tool to move listings between profiles, and I would be surprised if one existed.

I hope your son removed the listing because he decided to stop hosting, and not because of bad reviews. Airbnb has systems in place to flag listings that receive poor reviews and then reopen under the same profile to start fresh, so I hope that is not the case here and that what you did was simply the right transition.

I wish he had not had to cancel the stays. That is never good practice, but perhaps there was no other choice.

In my opinion, adding the screenshot at the end of the photo gallery was the right move.

Once you start receiving reviews, you can remove the old screenshot. You may not even need it after that.

Did you keep the same listing description or rewrite it? I would suggest changing it slightly so it does not appear identical to the previous one.

All the best.

Thank you very much.

He removed the listing because of a falling out within the family. All we had was five star reviews.

26 of them.

I talked to AirBnB Support and they said it would be a good idea to show the screenshots of all the five star reviews. So that’s what I did.

 Thank you for your response.

All the best.

Hi @John9587 😊

I'm glad you found a solution thanks to Airbnb!

Is it all good on your end right now or can I help you more with this?

@John9587 The only advice I can give to owners is that they should be the host and everyone else a co-host. That way co-hosts can be changed without losing reviews etc.

Thank you
