Hosting Fees

Hosting Fees

Am I understanding correctly? Are hosting fees being increased from (I think) 3% to 15%? I'm sure that I must have this wrong - a 500% increase?

For hosts in the UK, the portion of the Airbnb service fee that used to be paid by the guest is now also deducted from the host. So the person in whose hands the full fee is deducted, is changing in the UK @Simon2920

This means you need to use the pricing tool that Airbnb made available to UK hosts, to update prices in order for you and the guest to both be in approximately the same position as before.

Does that mean we have to increase our daily rate Shelley, which would mean taking us over the £100 threshold?

Hi @Simon2920 yes you have to increase rates, as the service fee will now be deducted from your side in full. The idea is that you and the guest can then carry on with little impact (although a host may now reach a threshold such as mandatory VAT registration, sooner).

You should be able to find a tool, either in your emails from Airbnb or on your host dashboard, that does the updating for you.

I can't post a link because I don't have it - hopefully a UK host can post it here if it's hard to find.
