Hosting issues - payments not forthcoming!

My wife and I have just started our journey as Air BnB hosts. The first experience has been anything but pleasant! We hosted a young group, and they left us a 5 star rating. So good so far. But Air BnB is yet to pay us! Their website assures you that payout will go within 24 hrs of the guest checking-IN. No such luck! They are still "verifying" our account! For the third time today, I have set up a fresh account for them to send payment. Nobody tells us what the actual issue is. Is it because the account is a joint one? We are pushing 70 and have absolutely no reason to have separate accounts. Agree AirBnB may not trust one spouse or the other, given the way the world is! But should they not insist on a SINGLE person account when they tell us to set up payout methods? Each time, we get extremely polite parrots when we call - repeating the same sentences, same assurances, but no result! Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Is it a tax form they want? 

If it’s any consolations, my payouts started arriving days after my guests have LEFT. I thought it was a one off- but this last payout arrived four days into a guest’s stay. 😢
