Did you have a professional person take pictures of your home? I am not sure about the lighting. I appreciate feed back.

What a beautiful home you have! I took all of our pictures for our listing, you can do the same.
For style.. I suggest look at home listing that you like and mimic what they have done. Study the way the pictures where composed. Make the rooms look like a hotel. Crisp, clean, all in order. You want to "stage" your home.
For example: with your opening patio picture. Set the table outside. Open the cover to the hot tub. Set the stage! You want guests to feel like they could step right into the picture, and enjoy your home!
Yes, lighting is very important. (the most)
For outside photos, try to take pictures when light is soft. Early morning or just as sun is about to set. Make sure you don't see your shadow in any of your pictures. Try taking a few pictures mid day as well, the light may be better, depending on what you are photographing.
For inside photos: Turn on overhead lights, make sure curtains are all the way open, turn on floor lamps or desk lamps. Take a few test pictures, and see if the lighting is too harsh, if so, turn a few lights off. Photograph rooms when they get the best natural daylight. Try different positions in the room - from the doorway - from another corner of the room. Use the ones that look best.
Rooms need a wide shot. And then some close up of some of the details. Again, take some test pictures and see what looks best.
I am sure with a few tries you can make them look as good as a professional!
Best,
John
Hi @Judy761 ,
Yes I have done professional photography twice but ironically when I asked the community to review my listing a few mentioned to use one!😂
I am learning how to take my own.
-look at other’s listings photos & learn from them
-go horizontal with your phone
-look at your space when you see the lighting is the best though turn on All your lights for the photo shoots.
-think angles
-use selfie stick
-edit your photos after
-ask your family/friends to critique your photos that you you are thinking of using.
The phones of today do great jobs with photos. Play around with it. Like a wedding photographer take a lot of photos & drill down to the chosen few.
Good luck!
Your home looks great in the photos! The lighting seems pretty good, but if you want to make them even more eye-catching, you might consider using a photo enhancement **. I've had good experiences with apps like Adobe Lightroom or Snapseed. They can help you adjust the brightness, contrast, and colors to really make your home's features pop. Overall, though, your pictures are a solid start in showcasing your home's potential

The advantage to doing your own photos is that you photograph each room in its best light. It will vary according to the room and time of day. Experiment, take the time to stage each room carefully (no clutter, no electrical cords hanging, bedding smooth, curtains open, lights on or off depending what photographs better, try flash and no flash.) Most phone cameras are excellent these days.

Hello @Judy761, I agree with our wonderful hosts—what beautiful listings you have 😊.
Have you had the opportunity to read their suggestions? I'm sharing a link >>here on how to contact a professional photographer through Airbnb, should you decide to go that route.
Please let us know when you have a moment to update us.
Hi Paula,
I read them and I am putting the information to use. I just bought a croquet and bat-mitten sets for the back yard. It will be fun creating a picture that will capture all the possibilities.
I thought they said to take pictures and not to use a professional photo. Do they set everything out for me? My daughter is amazing and I may ask her to come over and set things up for me. thank you so much. Have a wonderful week, Judy
