Looking for thoughts on how to handle mail for my long-term guests at a condo with a keyed mail bank.
I have booked trips before on AirBnB and am sure that at least some of them automatically synced with my Google Calendar so the details of my TRIP appeared in the Calendar. I 'think' that Gmail might have done it automatically for me when I opened my booking confirmation email, but cannot be sure. My latest reservation did not appear in my calendar and I cannot find a way to insert it (without creating my own entry manually in the Calendar). Please note that I am not a host and therefore do not have an AirBnB calendar that might sync with my Google Calendar. Is there a function or a way to do this?
Hmm - have come up with a sort of solution to this. Whilst viewing my confirmation email from AirBnB in Gmail, if I select the Gmail option 'More' (three dots at top of Gmail interface) I can select an option in the dropdown to 'Create Event'. By default this is going in TODAY's calendar so I need to then change the date. I also have to manually add the address - possibly because AirBnB emails have changed so Gmail cannot read the destination address?
There is a delay these days, @Nick774 . My next trip (as a guest) didn't show up for at least 24 hours on my google calendar after it was confirmed.
But I just looked it up, and it has loads of details wrong: number of guests is wrong, check-in and -out times are wrong, and, you're right, no address. I think we are on our own, inputting it all manually.
In case hosts out there are worried, the itinerary and emails are not wrong. It's just what gets sent to the guest's google calendar that is messed up.
Two years later and I am having this same issue. It seems Google Calendar chooses to add some Trips to calendar and omit others. No rhyme or reason here.
Additionally, if any Airbnb employees are reading, it would be massively helpful if the reservations were formatted so the address showed up in the Google Calendar address field, and the correct check-in and check-out times were listed in the notes field.
@Nick774, I ended up doing just what you did! Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for posting this here! Definitely a feature to add for easier trip planning…and for some reason the app lets you add to your wallet but not your calendar! Hopefully this comes up in their user testing and gets addressed soon…
Nuts this isn't built in already (and hasn't been added since this post was made). Such a simple thing to do to make clients use of the service smooth.
Yes, it's nasty to make customers suffer from such a simple issue these days in 2022, can't believe it !
Having the same problem! Going to Hawaii for 9 days. One of my trips posted to my calendar....the other one did not and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get that to happen. Is anyone at AirBNB reviewing these massages?
I'm also having difficulties with a trip not showing up in google travel or syncing to my calendar.
This might be a google/gmail issue though. I have two different airbnb stays over the course of my upcoming trip to california. The first showed up automatically in the travel itinerary and was synced to my google calendar (and all the details were correct). However, the second one does not seem to be recognized as a trip at all, and there is no easy way to add it other than manually creating an entry to the calendar.
It's March 2023 and this happened to me - I'll be staying in 3 different places and only one automatically synced and the other two didn't. I still haven't been able to figure it out. Laura who posted above wrote out instructions, however the 2nd step in her instructions of "Add to trip" don't show up for my when I click to see my trips or see more details about any of them. I'm pretty annoyed that I still haven't been able to figure it out... or that Airbnb hasn't.
...I wonder as well, Airbnb, do you look at these messages or are they just forums for us people to try to figure your site out and what it lacks?
Hey @Olivia778 ,
Just wanted to assure you that we do keep a lookout for comments and feedback for Airbnb on our Community Center! Did you happen to get in touch with Airbnb Customer Support via the contact page to troubleshoot the issue you are facing?

I did when I posted this comment. It eventually said a team member joined the chat, and I thought the customer support person was going to say something and they never did. I messaged today to ask if anyone was there and I still haven't gotten a response.
Agreed, this is so basic and really annoying to have to do manually.
It truly is unbelievable they haven't integrated it after so many requests over so many years! As a programmer, I can assure everyone that this is NOT a mammoth task and most of the tools are already available. Putting things together shouldn't be more than a couple of hours.
And the Host calendar syncing with Google calendar is awful at the moment.
******** Please sort this out guys! *********
Yup. Just came here to add one more voice. Every other travel website I use has an "add to calendar" option.
PLEASE!!
