Has anyone been contacted or know another Airbnb host that has been contacted by show? I would love to do it but unsure if its a scam. Hesent me all the info, and it seems legit. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this. They are featuring 7 homes in San Antonio. Find it hard to beleive that out of all the homes, mine would be picked. Its a beautiful home, just doesnt stand out as many others would. He states its about the back story and not always about BIG and bold. Its about ratings and the effort they see hosts have put into their homes. What do you all think?
Hi @Marylou42 , they contacted us as well. They said it would cost us $6900 to have someone come film our property for 4-5 hours and you may have a spot on the show. They also said that others that aired on Staycation saw a 10% increase in bookings. I’m not sure it’s legit.
I really think its all about how an owner goes bout promoting their property, but regardless, we opted out. 10%-20% is not enough return IMO for all the hassle. $6k is a good chunk of money for a company that sought you out. I think I'd rather pay someone that money to professionally market my place instead, lol. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it!
The show is currently in its third season and has won three Emmy Awards. It airs on CBS, Pluto TV, and other platforms (link below). The cost is similar to how "Shark Tank" operates as a TV program.
