If I no not review, does his show in my listing?

Hi

I had a bad guest that had to be kicked out after 3 hours. He left me a most likely bad review. If I do not leave him a review, will the one he left stay away for my listing? He has been flagged so his review would be taken down, but I do not want his name for a second on my listing.

Hi @Martine1417

Even if you don't review the guest, the guest's review will automatically be published to your profile after 2 weeks. If you review the guest before that time, the guest's review of you will show on your profile as soon as you post your review of the guest. It's not possible to keep the guest's review away from your profile so that it doesn't show "for a second".

Most hosts here in the Community Center advise that you leave an honest and factual review of the guest. This helps other hosts and keeps the review system healthy. Stick to facts, do not exaggerate and do not insult the guest - you don't want your review of the guest to be removed. Many hosts suggest that you start by mentioning something positive before pointing out negative aspects. It may be good to wait until near the end of the 2-week deadline before you post your review of the guest - this gives you a chance to get other positive reviews on your profile before the guest's negative review of you is published.

Once the guest's review has been published, you can compare it to the Reviews Policy to see whether there are grounds to ask Airbnb to remove the guest review from your profile.

Airbnb's Reviews Policy - Airbnb Help Center

It's not easy to get this done, as there has to be a very clear policy violation. It's therefore important that you get other positive reviews as soon as possible, so that the negative one will be less visible.

You also have the option to write a public reply to the guest's review. If you decide to do this, it needs to be carefully worded to make sure you don't sound bitter or defensive. Just like your review of the guest, a public reply to the guest review should ideally be factual, fair and unemotional.
