I’m in the process of readying a cabin on my property. Wondering about the coverage through Airbnb. Is there any cost for the air cover? And should I have anything else?
TIA

There is no cost for Aircover, but there are many limitations and exclusions and the Host Damage Protection it is NOT insurance. Even Airbnb says that. I would read the terms carefully:
Aircover Terms Conditions Exclusions

Many Hosts don't realize that the Host Damage Protection (Aircover) only pays depreciated value (not replacement value) and find filing a claim under Aircover difficult, cumbersome and time consuming; especially for larger damage claims. Keep in mind you only have 14days to file a claim and a 30day deadline to provide any addl information Airbnb requests to prove the claim. If you miss those cutoff times, the claim is denied. Type Aircover in the "Search the Community" box and you'll see what I mean.
Also, most guests will leave a negative review if you file an Aircover claim for reimbursement for damages and many times Airbnb will not remove the review as retaliatory. It's best not to let on to a guest you will be filing a claim for damages until they write their review or the 14day review window is almost up.
Aircover also offers 1MM in liability protection which is actually an insurance policy and have heard nothing but negative about filing claims under that as well. Again, type Aircover liability in the search box to see more threads on that.
I suggest all my clients look into obtaining their own Short Term Rental Insurance. Typical Homeowner's insurance will not cover running an Airbnb on the property as it is considered a commercial activity. The premiums will be higher than typical Homeowner's insurance and only a few companies offer it. Be sure to get coverage for damage as well as loss of use/income should you have to cancel reservations due to damage from guests or natural disasters. BTW, Aircover will only reimburse for guest damages, not damage from other causes (wildfire, flood, etc.). You can speak to an independent insurance broker to find someone who offers it in your area. Here are a few that offer it in the US - not sure about Canada, but you can type "Insurance Canda" in the search box to see other posts on that.
