Hi- I’ve just set up an account and listed my property. As a technophobe I think I’ve omitted something as I can only see the lead photo and when I get someone else to look for a property in my town the property doesn’t appear. Does it take a few days to go live or am I doing something wrong?
@Jane4744 it takes about 24 hrs to appear. You then need to revisit everything in the listing as far more amenities are available once you are live.
Great! Thx
Hello @Jane4744
What a gorgeous property Jane😍 Happy to tell you that you are live so as Mike says, you need to go back into your listing and fill in the new sub headings that you'll discover. Also check out the amenities list as there are many more that need to be ticked!
As a newbie your listing will benefit from a "honeymoon" period for about a month so that you have a chance of attracting bookings. Just to warn you - You may attract some profiles that will try and get you to go off the platform or ask for videos - these are common scams for newbies I'm afraid and you can flag them via the Airbnb message system.
If you're on Instant Book, make sure you have set up house rules for your listing to avoid any surprises especially over the New Year period. Understand the difference between a booking enquiry and a request to book is important in my eyes at this early stage - the stakes are not the same😉
Any questions, just pop back here but there is also a useful search bar just above too. There are some great guides made by hosts on various subjects that I wish I had known about when I first started out😉 Just click on your profile picture here on the CC and there is a drop down menu with Host Guides to choose from
All the best
Joëlle
thx!
Now that you have published the listing, you can go in and add the addl information to the listing...it's alot! Be sure to add your House Rules and cancellation policy as well as a cleaning fee. Many Hosts don't do this and it leads to many "issues". Airbnb delays showing the listing for 24-72hours to enable the Host to finish setting up the listing properly. Go to every square (Airbnb calls them cards) on the left side of the Listing Editor/Your Space and click it. Areas for you to add information appear on the right panel. Don't forget to setup your Arrival Guide as well.

Just a note...
It looks like you have chosen "Experienced First Guest" when you setup the listing? If a guest doesn't have at least 3 reservations on their Airbnb profile, they won't be able to book, but they should still see the listing after 24-72 hours as @Mike-And-Jane0 mention. Some new Hosts prefer to use this feature, so nothing wrong with that. You can always remove it if you're not getting any bookings:
oh gosh! Thx for that ! Will get to it!
