Joint listing

We recently bought an Airbnb from a friend. She has an Airbnb account and so do I. She has the original listing under her account. If we are jointly on the deed, can she update her listing with the deed information and both of us run the listing?

One doesn't enter title deed information on an Airbnb listing. A large number of listings are made by hosts who don't own the property (for example property management companies).

If you want to co-host a listing with another person, you can just decide how you want to split payouts and set it up as you prefer.

What have you done to set this up so far? Shelley has shared some pointers on how the platform works , but perhaps if you tell us more about how you'd like to manage this listing with your friend, we could advise you further on how to go about it. 🙂

I  do not understand this situation, especially not this part "If we are jointly on the deed".

If you bought the property, then you are the new owner. Your friend (the former owner) needs to deactivate(!) (not only "unlist" ) the listing under her account and after that(!) you can create it again under your account. Then you can assign your friend as the co-host and manage the listing together, if desired.

Please note there should not have been issues with the old listing and also it needs to be fully deactived before creating the new one, otherwise Airbnb will flag the new listing as an illegal "duplicate" and will suspend it (search this community for "duplicate listing") .

I assume you will manage (and your friend managed) the listing with a private account (not as a business)
