Hi, We have just set up our listing and it is live. However, we live in the City of Lancaster in the County Of Lancashire. For some reason the address keeps automatically putting Lancashire as the city and England as the County. This means anyone wanting to say in Lancaster cannot find us. We have tried entering manually and saving but it just reverts back to that. Any help appreciated.
I looked at the listing: it says Lancaster, Lancashire, England.
Seems right to me (?)
Direct search also show it is in the search system:

Best regards,
Emiel
Thanks Emiel, it still stays Private room in Lancashire as the header though, Lancashire is a huge area covering Manchester, Liverpool etc. Really want it to say Lancaster and can't understand why the address won't let us put Lancaster as the city.
@Sarah3538 what does it say when you go to listing details and scroll down to location?
@Sarah3538 If a potential guest is searching for a place in the city of Lancaster and your listing meets the search parameters they have set, your listing will come up. For example, I live in the village of Vineland, but my place comes up in Lincoln, which is the municipality. It's totally normal: there's nothing to be fixed. The map shows your location is in Lancaster.
The Airbnb search algorithm looks at many factors when it decides on your placement in the search results. It looks at things like your guest reviews, reply speed, acceptance rate, and many other factors: they won't say exactly everything that's taken into account. As a new host, try and take advantage of the newbie bump Airbnb gives you and focus on getting some good reviews under your belt, answer inquiries quickly, and try and accept bookings as much as you can. Places that aren't in the city centre, or are even a bit outside of the city, may be shown before yours in the search results because of the search algorithms. Basically, Airbnb shows potential guests the places that they're most likely to book first, not necessarily what's closest.
@Sarah3538- I THINK I'VE CRACKED IT!
I have a similar issue with ONE of my 3 listings...
" 5 Miles West of Lake District (1) Whitehaven" comes up as "Cumbria, United Kingdom."
"5 Miles West of Lake District (2)"
&
"5 Miles West of Lake District (3)" both come up as "Whitehaven, UK."
SO: - I'm wondering if the fact that I included "Whitehaven" in the title of listing (1), is the reason that the address comes up as "Cumbria", not "Whitehaven"? I think the bot may not be able to cope with the word "Whitehaven" twice?!
So the fact that "Lancaster" appears in your listing title, probably stops the same word appearing in the location, & it jumps to the next logical part of the address, "Lancashire", just as mine jumps to Cumbria!
Thank s everyone, tried removing Lancaster from the name but no joy. It says Lancaster in location which is something. A friend had the very same thing 2 years ago and had to phone Air B&B for them to sort but I can't find a phone number at all. Oh well.
