Hi,
My rental property is not quite ready and we don't have our final pictures yet but I would like to start working on resources on the listing that you can only work on once you publish. For example, before you publish, I can only add the 500 character blurb about my place.
Can I publish and then make my listing invisible so that I can work on all the other resources?
I've only seen conversations that are many years old.. so wanted to know if these ways still work?
Thank you!
@Cassie198 You can do what you want to achieve but it is a BAD idea - let me explain:
If you do want to do this then you just publish and then immediately snooze the listing. To be sure of taking no accidental bookings just charge a huge price per night or make no dates available.
The reason though that this is a bad idea is that new listings get a boost in the search ranking which is essential to get a foothold in Airbnb. Whilst no one knows for sure it seems the search algorithm is heavily influenced by bookings so you need these to maintain a good search position. Clearly publishing and then snoozing wastes this boost opportunity.
Good luck whichever way you choose to go.
Hello @Cassie198, welcome to our community,
Have you had the chance to read Mike's suggestion? Let us know what you decide in the end.
Hi, @Cassie198 you'll need to start creating your listing first with some basic information about your property, even if it's not yet complete. Once your listing is created, you can change its status to snooze. This means that while you can work on the listing, add photos, and descriptions, and set up pricing, it will not be visible to potential guests browsing Airbnb in the meantime.
Even if you don't have final photos of your property, you can add or update them later. It's a good idea to upload high-quality photos that accurately represent your space once it's ready. Once everything is set and you have your photos, you can change the status of your listing to "Listed." This will make your property visible to potential guests and allow them to book your space.
Remember, a well-prepared and detailed listing can significantly impact your success on Airbnb, so taking the time to get it right is beneficial. 😊
