Someone wants to book the entire 6 guests house for only 1 person and I can't see anywhere to set minimum gusts.
Does anybody knows where is the 'minimum guests' option?
@Patti352 Some thoughts
There is no minimum guest setting
Why do you care?
Its likely to be a mistake so be worth asking the booker
If it is a local and for a 1 night stay its a big red party flag
Hi @Patti352
Did you ask the guest to confirm the number of persons? It's very common for guests to miss that they have to change the guest count before submitting an enquiry. When someone lands directly on your listing, the default guest count is 1.
Don't decline before you've asked - the booking can be changed at any point to reflect the correct guest count.
You can't set minimum guests on Airbnb. You need to set your price at the minimum that you want to charge. Then scroll down to Additional Charges (at the bottom of the Pricing tab) and add an extra guest fee after however many guests you choose.
Hi @Patti352, welcome to the community! Based on how the platform is built, there is currently no functional "minimum guests" setting in the Airbnb system. The platform is structured around your Maximum Guest capacity, meaning any individual can book the entire house as long as they pay your established nightly rate. To manage this professionally, the most effective strategy is to implement Extra Guest Fees, where you set a base price for a smaller number of guests and charge a specific additional fee for every person after that. This protects your income for larger groups while ensuring a solo guest still pays a rate that makes your turnover effort worthwhile. Many hosts find that single-occupancy bookings are actually quite beneficial, as they result in significantly less wear and tear, lower utility costs, and a much faster cleaning process.
Hi @Patti352
Best to contact your guest and politely confirm if the reservation is for only 1 guest. Sometimes guests accidentally enter the wrong number during booking. If there will be additional guests staying, you can ask them to update or alter the reservation to reflect the correct number of guests before check-in.
I always ask if someone only wants to book for one in a whole house to confirm how many will be staying and why they chose my place @Patti352
