Minimum nights

Minimum nights

Am wondering if it’s more beneficial to have minimum 7 day bookings? Do hosts find it better and save on cleaning fees by having guests stay longer ?

Hi Judie30,

I actually do nights bookings and have come to realize that is is not that bad, including the deep clean. I have had my AirBnB for 3 years and I have stayed the same consistenly from 1 night to 28 days. (Due to my state laws of Illinois longer than that I'm allowing the squatter law take affect). Also the competition in my area has more than tripled and I have to leave all options open.

The way I look at it the it's more wash though I have 3 sets of bed sheets for each of my 2 bedrooms so I don't feel rushed during the rare occasions I have a back to back booking. The guests arrive @ 16:00 and leave by 11:00 which means they are really not in the apartment that long so my deep cleans are a breeze. I do al my own cleaning.

Good luck on making the right choice for you.

Hi Betty. Thank you so much for your comments.  I’m in the Uk and have a 2 bedroomed holiday home on a beach and like you I have 3 sets of everything for my guests ! But I have to employ a cleaner who charges about $140 each ‘turnaround’ including the laundry. My minimum stay for guests is 4 nights  and I’m fully booked right through our Uk summer and it’s going to cost me a fortune in housekeeping fees 😳…$$$ every 4 days !!!  so I’m wondering about doing a minimum 7 nights bookings.   I wish I could do my own housekeeping but I live 200 miles away so would be doing that journey every 4 days and now with the cost of petrol😱. I just feel I should try a 7 night minimum after my summer bookings and see if it’s financially better 🙏. Thanks though Betty ! 👍🫠
