Hi everybody, I am starting out as a host and I was thinking of offering a last-minute discount to avoid having too many nights without guests. However, since last-minute bookings can be challenging for me, especially if they come one after the other, I would want to make such a discount conditional on booking a 3 nights or longer stay.
To give you a (hopefully) clarifying example, today it's the 16th and my place is empty from the 22nd to the 27th. Starting from let's say 3 days before the first empty day, so on the 19th, I want guests to see the nightly price between the 22nd and 27th as 20€, but the price for 3 nights in that period to be 40€. At the same time, I do not want to offer that substantial discount on 3 night stays booked in December, for example.
Unfortunately, I do not see a way of creating this rule-set in AirBnB. If I create a rule-set that contains both a 3 nights discount and a last minute discount, they'll get applied also separately, i.e. people would enjoy the discount on any 3 nights stay in the affected period and there would be a last-minute discount even when booking one night.
The only alternative I could come up with is manually applying a custom rule of 3 days discount for the next n days whenever I have a few days to fill, but of course this is going to become pretty tricky to manage.
I don’t think there is a way to do this. But you CAN choose custom trip lengths under availability and set minimum lengths for specific dates.
Hi, @MArio3202! It seems like you are already testing a combination of rule sets. Have you managed to find a workaround to get your desired settings?
Adding to @Alfa30 's comments, I also wanted to share a guide from our super amazing Host @Joan2709 here in case it helps with a general idea of setting up custom rule sets : [GUIDE] Use Pro Tools to Set Calendar Custom Pricing & Trip Length - 2023 Summer Release
Hi @MArio3202
I have not tried to apply multiple rule sets to dates (don't believe you can do that). However, I would review the Airbnb article below that outlines how rule sets "stack" with your other default discount settings (early bird, weekly, monthly, etc.) I have never had to test out the "stacking" of discounts. Typically we only apply 3 night discounts for slow season and we don't typically use early bird discounts. We do use weekly discounts, but rarely get a booking for one week.

Test Out Your Theory
You can test out how you think the discounts will apply easily enough by:
1. Turn off Instant Book
2. Apply your 3night minimum rule set discount to selected dates
3. Then try to book as a guest and see if the price includes your early bird discount AND the 3night minimum stay (or one night stay)
Let us know how that goes....I'm curious how that would pan out 😊
