Hi @Helena665,
I have noticed similar things when searching for certain listings (my own or some others have bookmarked). Guest favorites and Superhost listings tend to be toward the top. If you are running a special, you will be toward the top. I think if you tend to have more bookings in general you may be toward the top. I have noticed a listing I like in my area that is not listed well and is pages down in a search. I think that host doesn’t host often, and tends to do monthly bookings only.
Have you tried changing your listing title or adding more recent pictures? Have you added more amenities or look at other listings to see what they are offering that you are not and you could add to your listing cost effectively? I wonder if that may show the algorithm you are updating things or doing things.
Once I did a search (not logged into my Airbnb acct on my computer) and found my listing at the top for 2 weeks out but when I searched for 4 weeks out it wasn’t listed until 3 pages in… we didn’t have any reservations then, and the ones on the top did not have a special going on (specials push you to the top of searches). So I don’t know how that works. New listings also get featured to help them get booked in their first couple of months as well as having a 20% discount for the first month or first 3 bookings.
I’ve heard of some people deleting their listing and relisting it differently. I’ve also heard of people putting different listings up for the same place (I’m not sure if this is allowed but it happens) so they can do split testing on wording or pics of their place.
I would recommend you post your listing to ask for advice from other hosts for ideas on what to emphasize or update on your listing as well as trying to do a special offer for a couple weeks to see if you can increase bookings to get you up in the algorithm again.
Good luck!
