Hey everyone! I’m a newbie here and really appreciate the supportive community. I’d love to get your expert advice on my Airbnb listing. I started last week and have only had one guest so far. Any tips on how I can improve would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

Hi, I’m not an expert but I have been doing this for over 15 years. The things that popped out for me was a lack of color, lack of design, not enough pictures, and not professional picture quality. I would start by maybe painting an accent wall in a bright, but cozy color (possibly something that would blend well with the beautiful views). Think green or blue. And it needs to be inviting and have a warm cozy feel to it which you would get by adding decorative touches. Like soft throw pillows and blankets, greenery, etc. If you have any questions, I’m free to help anytime!
Best wishes,
Jackie Ryan

Thank you so much for your valuable advice, Jackie! We recently renovated the house, and I’ve been trying to decide on the right art and decor. I’ve been a bit hesitant and couldn’t quite make up my mind, but your observation about the space feeling bland really resonates with me. I’ll definitely consider adding some color and decorative touches to create a more inviting atmosphere. I appreciate your help!
Hi, and thanks for inviting feedback on your home. Sometimes feedback can be a bit unnerving, but it may be useful as well.
1. Pull the shades up and let the sunlight come in. A few of the pictures had the shades down, which made the room look a bit depressing.
2. All bedrooms should have lamps on the nightstands and pictures or art above the lamps, the bed frame, or both.
3. The glass center table in the living room is a potential hazard. I'd recommend removing any glass if possible; if not, at least remove the center table.
4. I realize it's Canada, but in spring, you might want to plant some cold-hardy bushes and flowers. The yard looks un-raked and unkempt. These are the details guests notice when considering what to expect during a stay.
5. Place white towels on all towel racks and holders.
6. No TVs are featured in any of the pictures. How will guests unwind at night? Every room should have a high-end 4K TV (especially above the fireplace), and you should openly advertise that you provide apps like APPLE TV, HBO MAX, NETFLIX, YOUTUBE TV, etc., for free.
I hope this helps. Best of luck!
I really appreciate your advice! I'm planning to implement each of your suggestions. We do have a TV, but I didn’t feature it in the photo session because I was unsure about its placement. I'll take a new picture with the TV included. Since we just renovated, I'm also looking to add artwork and other decor.
Could you clarify your thoughts on glass tables? Am I not supposed to have them in an Airbnb? Your insights are incredibly helpful!
