New to Hosting and want advice on renting to females only

Hiya,

I'm new to hosting and will be renting my spare room out as I have a big 3 bed flat in Glagow. I am not comfortable with having men in my flat and only want to to host female travellers. Does anyone do the same ?

Thanks

Prom

@Promilla0, there are many discussions here on the CC from hosts who prefer to host female travellers only. Try searching for the topic, e.g., "Can I request ONLY female in my house", "Safety advice to female hosts", etc.

@Promilla0   See here: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/2867/nondiscrimination-policy

Since you share living space with guests, you're allowed to advertise the listing as women-only. But there's no way to prevent the listing from appearing in search results from male guests, so you might want to make the gender restriction a prominent feature in your title.

The policy linked above also requires you to respect guests' professed gender identity, and there have been hosts who got de-listed and banned for declining guests who identified as transgender. If your comfort with renting that spare room depends on which genitalia lurk in your guests' underwear, Airbnb might not be the best fit for you. But women-only listings do exist, and some hosts seem to be doing well with them.
