***PET FEE HAS CHANGED! - NEW OPTIONS

Looks like Airbnb has added new Pet Fee options on the Calendar, which has been request for a long time. Unfortunately, no one knew about the new options until it was discovered by @Joelle43...thank you! This is a game changer if you allow pets. It would have been nice to be notifed of this change by Airbnb since it affects so many Hosts. If you were notified of this change as a listing that allows pets, please let us know by leaving a comment here. Previously, the only option was "Pet Fee Per Stay":

For those that are not familiar, the Pet Fee is set on:

-Calendar

-Pricing

-Scroll to the bottom

-Click Addl Charges

New Options

NOTE:

Airbnb spreads the pet fee over the nights of the reservation and doesn't show the Pet Fee as a separate line item like they used to. This is probably due to all the negative press about "extra fees on Airbnb". 

Example - Pet fee is set as $75 per pet on Calendar

Nightly rate $350

Guest reservation is 3 nights

Guest adds 1 pet

New nightly rate is $375 per night ($75 per pet fee spread out over 3 nights)

I learned something new and it is great to see that Airbnb finally implemented this.  

Hopefully, in the future, we can set different cancellation policies for other times of the year since they are changing the cancellation policies soon.
