Hi!
I have a question relating to reviews.
I just recently had a guest who gave me 5 star reviews on all categories except one category, where she gave 4 stars (so 5 x 5 + 1 x 4). Still the over all rating ended up being 4.
Earlier I had another guest give me a 4 star review on all except two categories, which were rated 4 (so 4 x 5+ 2 x 4). In this case the overall rating was a 5.
How does Airbnb calculate the total review score? According to all logic I find that the recent guests total review should add up to being a 5.
Any experience or views on this topic, or recommendations as to what to do about it?
Many thanks in advance!
Rina

The guest gives an overall rating (4) and ratings per category.
The overall rating is not calculated
@Rina8215 The rating for the property is just the average of all the overall scores. The individual ratings for location etc are averaged to give those ratings on your listing.
Hi Mike! Thanks for your response! Then, as per your answer, the total review score for that guest should be 5, right? (5*5+1*4)/6= 4.83 (rounded to 5, not 4)
But instead it’s a 4. I still don’t understand..
How do you see this?
thanks again!

The guest leaves an overall rating that's nothing to do with the individual ratings @Rina8215
The guest gives an overall rating (4) and ratings per category.
The overall rating is not calculated
Thank you, this is helpful! Rina
