Scam alert! How can I make sure a listing is real?

This will be my first time using Airbnb so I'm a bit weary about listings being fake.

What can I do to make sure a listing is real and not a scam?

What should I be looking out for?

@Marwan39 it looks legit however....

The host has 136 properties and only 22 reviews. Of these one (about 5%) said the host canceled their reservation and only offered a replacement for 3 days out of 7.

I have looked at the Justa Hotels website and it says rooms are fully booked, as does Hotels.com but on Air BnB it is available for my dates.  The individual who replied to my query about this has given me a contact number which is different from the number on the hotel website.  Does anyone have any experience of this?  He says as limited rooms are available they are only selling through limited channels.  He was fine when I said I would prefer to book via Air BnB rather than by contacting the number he provided.

Hi, we are looking to book in Palm Springs for a month stay. Any way to check if this listing is legit? I believe it is on the real airbnb site and the profile has been verified. However, the listing is new and no reviews. Can we ask for her HOA#? Would this large condo unit confirm that she owns that unit? Are there questions to ask that could help confirm?

Just want to check, is this real? the offer does seem too good to be true, owner says she's in the UK and will post the keys etc via DHL, couldn't find the property either when zooming in on the location.

Yeah for some reason the link works on my phone but not PC I did a browser search and it said that it was most likely a scam!

I’d only say yes because of who has the account. They’ve had it since 2014 and have a ton of reviews for other rooms they rent. But not positive

https://airbnb.co.uk/room/4002 saw this amazing apartment in city centre in Liverpool advertised on facebook, the landlords daughter had posted it on marketplace and gave us her fathers email. We exchanged emails with details of who would be moving in gave no bank details or anything and he said he would get in touch with airbnb to get a link and reference number. He sent me the link however it comes up dangerous website and wondering if this is a scam or not as I have never used airbnb before.

I found a place in Milan over idealista.it. The host should be contacted via email and on the advertisement there was only one picture. When I contacted the host they seemed trustworthy and asked some questions why I would be the ideal tenant, - so far so so good. But the apartment is really cheap compared to the other ones in Milan and also the fact that I have to pay 2500€ in advance without even knowing the apartment is real, made it seem a little fishy to me. Do you guys have any idea if the announcement is scam or if it’s real? Any help is welcome 🙂 thank you!
