Slow bookings

Hello, I am a new host. I started last hosting with the first week of this September. You can say, brand new. The start was very good. Many bookings on the calendar, very optimistic! The reviews are 5 star. The place is very nice and well designed to provide a comfortable experience. But, suddenly, I stopped to get any bookings!! Not at all!! Is the market slow in Kingston, ON?

Ebb and flow is very common with reservations so don’t worry! Did you offer the 20% new listing discount? If so, that probably gave you an immediate advantage for reservations. Also as a new listing Airbnb bumps your listing up in the search results to help you get started. 

Once that “bump up” and newness ends, you will naturally have a bit of a lull.  But now that you have some good ratings and a few reservations under your belt, your bookings should start to come over time but at a slower pace. It does seem like a let down when you immediately saw so many bookings at once. But it’s totally normal to have periods of no reservations at all.
