Hello @Nathan146
I have been a host on Airbnb for 4 years but do not rent all year round and always just miss the Super Host status as I fall just short of the number of stays to qualify. I have longer stay minimums too so this reduces my appeal. If I went for nightly stays or two night minimums, I would surely get to SH status a lot quicker but that's not what I want.
So when the Guest Favorite badge came out, I was so pleased to see that my hard work and 5* reviews were finally acknowledged. So you see, this new badge doesn't just reward new listings. A GF badge is awarded to listings rather than hosts. A Super Host with several listings may only get one of their listings recognised as a Guest Favorite as it reflects the quality of that particular listing.
I think the same can be said about becoming a SH - there are many new hosts who have qualified recently since you just need to have 10 reviews over a set period, a very low cancellation rate etc.
So a host with a dozen great reviews that is awarded GF is not so different and the % score reflects the consistency of good reviews for that particular listing.
Have you seen the score where a listing shows that it is in the "bottom of the 10% of listings" - I would prefer to have nothing than that showing up😱
Like saying that you are at the bottom of the class! How does that work for the host, poor thing.
