Transfer Ownership

Transfer Ownership

Is it possible to transfer my only listing to my wife, as we have separated and she needs control of it entirely, including all tax responsibilities?

If you are referring to Jayne she’s already listed as the host on your listing @Keith885

Yes, I made her the primary host, but I'm still the 'owner' and responsible for tax returns. This means that I have to pay any tax due. That's fine in itself and I'm happy to do that, but now that I get my state pension it's added to that as income and I'll be taxed on that as well. I've left her everything including a house with no mortgage. I now think I'll be living abroad and would just like to get it straightened out. There must be some way of transferring ownership so she doesn't miss out on income while setting up herself as host/owner and relisting all over again? There are ongoing bookings throughout the year. Thanks for your observation - I should have said that first, sorry. It's just doing my head in a bit!

No you can’t transfer the ownership of a listing . It’s against Airbnbs T&C to do so @Keith885

you would need to advise your wife to set up a new listing in her name blocking out dates where you have any bookings with the original listing.

once you have completed any outstanding bookings you can close the original listing down.

you will of course need to pause the original booking so you don’t accept a new bookings .

you can allocate all the income to her as the main host if you don’t have a cohost so she will pay tax on the income for the original listing going forward and she needs to provide her NI details to Airbnb.
