Washing machine

Washing machine

We have a washing machine and dryer in our chalet for use by us for the linens. We live on an island with well water. The past couple of summers we have had drought conditions and quite a few people ran their wells dry. Meaning no flushing toilets etc!
Has anyone had this situation? And how did you address machine use for owners only.
Brand new to this!

You offer an entire chalet. Useally what's in can be uesd by the guests, unless stated otherwise in the listing. Although the list of amenities says no washer, no dryer (which usualy is interpreted as: they are not there at all), I do not see in your listing anywhere mentioned about the restrictions for using washingmachine an dryer. It should at least be in the houserules.

BTW your houserules are missing the important options regarding smoking, pets and noparties ! Also check-out time is missing. Also review the list of amenities, it seems to me it is not complete (kitchen equipment etc..) It also says there is no heating and hot water (?)

My washing machine is in a shared kitchen. Altough  initially offered it also to guests, i removed this facility because of mis-using it.

So my houdserules say the washingmachine is not for guests. Also there is a similar note on it.

But it turns out this was not enough, as some guests still try to use it. So a had to deactivate it. There are several ways to do this (special socket which can be enabled by WiFi, same for blocking the water supply, and activate the child-lock) . I only use the last one, which means machine will not start !  Guest need to look op brand and type, download manual to find out how to deactivate child lock, which is a too high treshold.

If possible i suggest to put washingmachine and dryer in a separate, lockable space: machine physically not accesable and also not to be seen !
