What to do of FUSSY Guest? Group to share Real Real feedback about guest too.

My concern is that sometimes we face Guest who are Extra Expecting even when you have done that extra mile service to them.

 

When you have 5 star rating for 100 % of guest but just due to Over expecting Services like A Hotel your Guest 

Is Fussy.

 

What you do to Keep your Rating topline

Vikram, We are in a service industry, guests come in all shapes and sizes and all of them with a different mindset. There is always going to be that odd guest that will consider your property failed to meet their expectation in some way.

This is not something you can stress about, and when you look at it rationally, it says more about the guest than it says about you, or what you offer. 

 

I just took a look at my ratings. Have a look at this screenshot.......Unfair ratings A.png

 

Over the 5 categories where guests could rate with their comments 1,174 gave us a positive comment while a total of 5 gave me a negative comment!

Cleanliness......1 comment, 'noticeable smell'! Yes there is a library of books and in the cooler season they can smell a bit musty. That's probably my easiest problem to fix.....I just remove all the books. That would destroy the character of my listing, is it worth loosing the compliments of the other 119 to satisfy that 1 particular guest?

Accuracy..........1 guest thought it didn't match the listing photos, another 124 said it matched the description and the photos, who is right that 1 or the other 124! Once again, who do I satisfy that 1 or the other multitude!

Another 1 guest said it needs maintenance! Yes, 80 year old buildings do to some extent, none of the other 1,174 thought that was worth mentioning!

And then of course there was that one that though 4 eggs and 6 slices of bacon and 5 slices of toast for Breakfast was inadequate!!!! Perhaps I should apply for a McDonalds franchise *#!?

Location.........1 x Not private and 1 x Bland surroundings! Did that guest not read the listing description??, and if this is 'bland'' then I am out of ideas on how to fix that.........

Vikram, you can see what I am getting at, those comments don't say anything about me as a host or what I offer, all they say is how totally knit-picking Airbnb can be and how unrealistic some guests can be.

I am not going to jump through hoops trying to mess up a winning formula just to please 5 people out of more than 1,000 who felt what I offered met their expectations to the point of leaving a positive comment. That .05% is not worth loosing sleep over!

Vikram your reviews have all been 5* overall, you are starting to build yourself a good track record, just concentrate on being that great host that you are, and let that odd guest make a fool of himself/herself every now and then.
