Which floor in listing?

I'm a new host, creating my listing. I have a two-story home and am renting the entire place to guests. Problem: a question asks how many floors the building has -- and the next question asks which floor the listing is on. It won't allow me to say 2 floors and the listing is on both.

Hi @Mary-Helen4 ,

If you haven’t I would reach out to AirBnB support. I know you are not the only 2 story building out there.
If you select home I think you will be fine. If after you select entire entire home & not accept 2 floors sounds like a glitch.
Maldonado type in your question into Google & if this question was asked before in our Community you will get an answer with a fix straight away.
The best of luck.
Best regards,

Hi @Bettye6 -- thanks so much for your suggestion! I checked for all of the
Q & As about the subject and it seems AirBnB doesn't have this nailed down yet. Everyone was asking questions like mine. So, I'm going to describe it well in the description and hope AirBnB works it out. Thanks for your answer!!

@Mary-Helen4 ,

A great question and hope it gets resolved quickly!

@Mary-Helen4 when you do find it what are you going to call the first upstairs floor? In Europe it is the first floor, in the USA its the 2nd floor.

Jane, in the U.S. we call the ground floor the first floor, and so the first one up is the second floor.

What do you call the ground floor???? This is so interesting, and good to know!

@Mary-Helen4 In the UK the ground floor is.......the ground floor. The first floor above ground is.....the first floor. All very logical and in large buildings lifts have a 0 for the ground floor, then 1,2.3 as you go up.

Thank you for the clarification! It makes total sense, but of course ground and second floor also make sense to me b/c that's what I've known. I'm planning a trip to Spain -- you have prepared me, thank you!

Logical, as @Mike-And-Jane0 said, yes indeed. But it is definitely not the easiest thing to adjust your brain to @Mary-Helen4!

I have been living outside the US for nearly a decade and still sometimes catch myself exiting the stairs on the wrong floor or pressing 1 on the elevator.

When that happens, I again have to remind myself the day does not start at 1 o’clock and a baby is not born at age 1 either 😅
