Who said it was not a threat. And yes I am a minister who owns and runs 5 accommodating properties and 3 venues to include my rooftop space. What does that matter to you? That is what is wrong with you. Worry about yourself and your God
Want a good remedy for hosts/you? Clean your property there is nothing more to it. One would think you would do that naturally, but heh some are just in it for the money while others strive to the best they can and go above and beyond.
Only information sparse is yours. Now create your own thread and fill it with what is on your mind
@Kenneth12 Yes, if I were a guest, I'd like to know whch hosts considered coronavirus to be some overblown scare, hyped by the media and "liberals". Because if that's the attitude, I would avoid booking with those hosts- they are very likely considering any stringent disinfecting procedures in their listings to be a silly waste of time.
Well I would gladly take the hit for not accepting your reservation. Do not put words into my mouth. I am not even going to give you the time of day other than...
There are countless threats out in the world today, it is not only the corona viris. If you could even comprehend what I was saying we wouldn't be having this conversation. The countless threats we face are always blown up beyond what they are. We all know what the virus can do, we don't need the media hyping it to where there is a mad rush to get supplies, causing all kinds of havoc from vehicle accidents, full out fights. And that is the end of that discussion, you are clearly clouded in your thinking.
Stick to the topic, this is about AIrBnB arbitrarily making the decision to refund 100% to anyone who mentions the virus. They should minimally take 50% of that burden or let the The Host Guarantee "there insurance" pay for it. I have people cancelling because they cannot go eat at their favorite restaurant because it closed down, and what do they do. They cancel and say they can travel at this time because they can't eat where they want to.?? If you find that acceptable, then you have something wrong with you.
@Dean70 I didn't put any words in your mouth. And of course it's not okay for people to be taking advantage of the coronavirus cancellation policies because a restaurant they wanted to go to is closed, nor is it okay for Airbnb to be allowing guests to cancel all reservations with 100% refund.
But the fact is that we have never seen a disease spread this fast this far with this percentage of deaths in our lifetime. And it's not getting better, it's still spiking and there are cases in countries today that had none yesterday.
People running round panic buying ridiculous things like toilet paper doesn't mean the reporting of this and the warnings from health professionals and scientists is media hype. Panic buying and hoarding are what people do who aren't capable of rational thought and selfishly think only of themselves, rather than working together for the common good. Thankfully there are many of us who can read the information that is out there, sort the facts from the sensationalism, and make intelligent decisions about keeping ourselves and others safe.
Your first 2 sentences are spot on and the whole point to my thread and what isn't being addressed by AirBnB. Please stop attacking my opinion "with some facts", and use your voice to help stop what AirBnB is doing.
I can name several in my lifetime, starting with measles, then how about HIV which took over 600 lives in 1982, "not even close with this virus". 1983-1200 lives,1984 over 6,000 lives, 1985 over 12,000 lives. Today over 600,000 have died in the US, with another 13,000 a year.
We all have to be vigilant, mindful of who we are around, wsh your your hands. Let me tell you something I learned this from my Mother. So to sit there and watch government officials "urgent" you must stop touching your eyes, stop touching things, stop licking your lips, then proceeds to lick her finger to change the page, the hysteria is NOT needed. We are a 3rd world country, we are not in europe. We are the united stated, we have the ability and implemented this virus's shut down.
Yes we have more than we should of people who passed, that's life. But I hold firm this will all be quieting down in 4-6 weeks, if we can't shut the mouths of liberal media up, who again are the sole reason for all the panic. Not the health professionals or scientists you say I stated.
I wish but unfortunately there is more irrational than rational.
First of all @Dean70 , you are a minister? Wow. Second, am I wrong in saying the host guarantee is for the host getting paid for property that is damaged or stolen it has nothing to do with insuring against lost earnings. And third, did you really say that this is not a pandemic but a media driven event?
@Sam397 Do you all read in Nevada, I'm going to assume no which is sad. I'll repeat myself for the last time. I never it was not a pandemic, what I CLEARLY said was the it is the fault of the media for causing the panic I see everyday and if you don't you are also blind or nieve, "end of discussion on that".
If AirBnB can arbitrarily change the rules, then why cannot The Host Guarantee can be altered, though I believe it mentions more than just damages. Again your not understanding the point, I don't know how else to get through to you. The property owners should be the sole entity to absorb the 100% refund. AirBnB should minimally bare some of the burden at 50%. There has to be a line in the sand when it comes to guests using the word corona virus, right now there isn't, and that is wrong and clearly shows that AirBnB has not and is not thoroughly evaluating or researching Does that make it better for you.? If your happy allowing that then that's you stay out of this thread
Yes, I am a minister what does that have to with the price of tea china. Don't talk about religion or God to me, it has nothing to do with anything. Unless you have nothing better to do then to spam someone's thread, unless you are an AirBnB official, stay away and go disinfect or property or something.
I own and run 6 properties and run a total of 13 properties both through my business site, AirBnB, VRBO, hotels.com, etc. etc. Don't think for a minute you can school me
@Dean70 the reason I asked if you were a minister has nothing to do with god, I have just never seen one that is so rude and disrespectful as you are. I always pictured ministers as friendly, understanding people but I guess that went out the window once people were able to become ministers online for for $20. Talk about being an internet tough guy.
And I wasnt trying to school you either so you can stop patting yourself on the back.
To say AirBnB should change their host guarantee policy to include loss of income for host would be nice, but its not realistic. There are thousands of host on BnB all of which has had cancellations and to suggest BnB should cover 50% of that is for lack of a better word stupid. That would cost millions and their is no way they could or would do that. That would put them out of business and thats going to be a lot worse for host than what income we will lose because of this. That's like saying that all these businesses who have had to shut down should pay their employees half of their salaries. That would put a big percentages of businesses out of business and would devastate our economy in the long run. I am not defending AirBnB at all, what they are doing to host is messed up and should be against the law,and I am sure there will be a day when they will wish they hadnt treated the host the way they have but making them pay 50% of losses isnt the answer.
I understand your under a lot of pressure right now because of whats going on but you need to step back and look at what your saying and how disrespectful you are being.
@Sam397 .
You all come out and attack and now now I'm the bad, that's funny.
I'm not your typical look the other way minister. If you act like an ass I will ensure you know your an ass.
Sorry I'm not the kind of minister you expected. Being ordained or not, is no difference when representing God.
So keep your kindergarten words to yourself, because it only shows how out of tune you really are.
Next, you have no idea what.your even talking about when it comes to Airbnb refunding 100% be without discussing with property owners. You seem to think that is okay. Then why do you think the property owners should take the brunt of it all, are you kidding me. And finally because I am done discussing something they absolutely have no idea what there saying.
To your "stupid",
Well read this
