COVID 19 PRO GUEST ANTI HOST POLICY

This is awful. I just had a guest cancel today on 3/15 when they’re check in is on 3/19 and I’m getting $0? WHAT THE HELL is going on? This is awful treatment of hosts! Your platform has already been geared towards buyer rights but this is appalling. I won’t be able to rebook these dates. What are you going to do for hosts during this time period? I was counting on that money for my mortgage, to pay my cleaning staff! What is Airbnb going to do for hosts? This is only going to get worse, and if you don’t respond monetarily with a package for hosts then there will be a mass exodus of your platform. SHAME ON YOU AIRBNB!

I believe this is the problem that most hosts have with Airbnb. We all understand the travel ban and the EC policy. But what Airbnb should have revised was in order to cancel your reservation for a full refund it must be done within a certain time frame. Most all of my cancellation are coming in the day before if not the same day and for me that is not acceptable , especially when the whole world has known of this problem for several weeks now. Guests are not being very considerate towards host because they know that Airbnb is giving out full refund. What Airbnb does not understand is for hosts like me in the Los Angeles area , I have a lot of people that still need to stay for work reasons. Its Not Just tourists. Just because most of the things are shut down and closed there are still a large amount of people that are traveling for work.

Same! I had someone cxl on me the DAY before booking!! How was I supposed to convert that to another booking?

See this exactly is what I am talking about. Give us the opportunity to rebook. For me because of the traffic in our city I have guests that stay with me throughout the work week because it's too stressful for them to have two sit in traffic each day. Most people spend more time in traffic than the hours they work daily.
