I'm not sure how this works. I just ranted for ages and when I went to post it said Exception ID: 37FF74E2. It wasn't posted.
So in brief:
I did not give permission for Airbnb to change my terms and conditions. How dare they? Is that even legal?
Its sad that guests lose 50% of their stay money, but at least the cost would have been spread fairly. And it is afterall what they signed up to. This way I get a quarter of a half as they are going to pay us 25% of our cancellation fee only.
I cannot claim under any government scheme except universal credit.
I cant claim under the airbnb scheme as its just for superhosts...and don't even get me started n the arbitrary way thats set and managed. If I dare to challeneg a guest who's damaged the house I get a bad review. If I don't then I can't get financial recompense.
I run this house as a business, I don't live there. Now I have zero income, instead of the half income I should be getting.
I ac't believe its legal. The financial 'help' we are now being offered is an insult...dressed up as generosity. You guys can offer $3 million because we make you all that money.
