25% payout

Has anyone received a dime from Airbnb from their 25% payout from forced full refund canceled reservations overriding our strict cancellation policies? I was really excited when I first heard that Airbnb might actually for once be doing something in their hosts best interests, but 2 weeks later and still decimated by cancellations, I’m starting to wonder if this was all just a PR move and if I’ll ever see a penny from all of the cancellations  I was supposed to get 25% back on. Airbnb knows we are hurting and struggling and they are obviously not acting very hastily with their promises. When the federal government moves faster than Airbnb it’s a problem.

Thank Gd. It is starting to affect my relationship with various landlords.  Not all of us own 😉

I am nervous reading this associates response saying they are 'evaluating' accounts...eek  Maybe that isnt the correct wording.  But, I thought it was a straight across 25% back from any cancellations, for Any host, prior to Mid March.  I hope it means evaluating meaning taking notes to who to send to, not picking and choosing, like they did with the $5 grand superhost payouts.,  That is really tough to swallow as I did give my entire life (personal, physically emotionally and financially)  for 5 years to my Airbnb's only to be left with absolutely nothing, after this. It's hard to save $20- $40k.

Many of us are on the same boat, and most of us didn't receive any new bookings inquiries since then..

Some good news, there's a post by another host claiming he got his 25% refund.

Lets hope we all get something back to compensate our loses.

Don't yall find it VERY strange a company receives millions awhile ago and STILL hasn't ponied up??? They were about to go public right before all of this happened and then Covid, causing them to lose Billions!. 2 companies helped them and they still have not provided help to ANYONE. Why would any privately held company do that? Because they simply can.

I received my "25% payout". Be aware that it is based on your cancelation policy. Mine is set as "strict", so my payout after cancelation is 50%. Airbnb provided 25% credit of my cancelation payout minus Airbnb fees. Flexible and moderate cancelation policy will less likely to receive any payout as confirmed by Airbnb.

Reading this I don’t think I’ll be eligible as I have a moderate cancellation policy. Unless my understanding is wrong 🙁 Airbnb will pay 25% of what you would’ve received for a guest cancellation based on your cancellation policy. For example, if you would normally receive $400 USD through your cancellation policy, we'll pay you 25% of that—or $100 USD
