We are moving out of state so we rented a place for 31 days until we could complete our move. It is June in Arizona so A/C is a must and unfortunately the unit went down. the host had a technician come out immediately and we were informed by the technicians that it could not be fixed for another 5 days (Unit is old and they have to track down the motor). We only have 5 days left on our stay so we are without A/C and these next 5 days are going to be 109-114 degrees so it is miserable without A/C. The host had the technician bring us an air conditioner for one of the bedrooms but the rest of the house is too hot to even enjoy sitting in with fans running.
We have opted to get a hotel as it is uncomfortable unless we all just sit in the one bedroom. The house remains at 91-94 degrees all day. I am disappointed that the host has not even sent a message apologizing and offering to refund us so we can go stay in a hotel.
Just curious to see if hosts typically do not offer this ? Do guidelines exist that you need to go through Airbnb?
Do not want to post a bad review as it is the last five days of a long stay but the host (who lives in Arizona) certainly cannot think it is reasonable for guests to stay without A/C.
