Hi,
Brent298 with Northern Lake Yukon Cabin here 🙂
We totally new to hosting and excited for this adventure. We are having guests ask if we have canoes/kayaks/SUP boards for rent with appropriate gear. I'm curious how people in similar situations as us (on a lake) have gone about this, and things to consider (liability/insurance/other?).
Thanks to all in advance for your insights offered 🙂

@Brent298 Adding water sports equipment to your rental may seem like a good thing, but check with your insurance company first -- they may be able to provide a rider to your policy or a contract that the guest must sign and indemnify you for accidents or damage prior to using sports equipment.
@Mike-And-Jane0 The suggestion to find a local provider is really the best option!
@Brent298 I would see if you can arrange a deal with a local provider of such gear. You could either negotiate a discount for your guests or you could ask for commission. I Apart from insurance and other liability concerns you may also find that some guests want canoes, some kayaks etc. To stock all the possible permutations just isn't realistic I am afraid - That is why hire companies exist because they manage at scale.
